Everything you need to know about becoming a Kaya member.
What is Kaya?
Kaya is a members-only club providing access to authentic designer handbags for a monthly membership fee. Our members borrow bags from the collection and when they would like another, we deliver!
Why Should I Be A Kaya Member?
Kaya is about enjoying your dreams today. Instead of buying one luxury handbag per year, why not get the the collection of your dreams right now? We are always adding new bags to the collection, so you get even more value over time.
How does Kaya work?
Choose the bag they want from the collection, let us know and then borrow it for between two weeks and two months. We deliver it to you and pick it up when you would like another bag.
What's included in the membership?
Your membership covers access to all handbags for your tier, handbag swaps, and insurance for wear and tear through normal handbag use and accidental damage for your first borrow of the month. Additional borrows in a month will carry an insurance surcharge between R200-R300 per bag.
Will you add more bags?
Yes we will to grow the collection each month - meaning you get more each month! Some bags may also move tiers as their value changes.
How long can I keep a bag?
You keep your chosen piece for at least 2 weeks. We want you to have enough time to truly experience the bag. If you want it for longer you can just let us know and you can keep it for up to 2 months! Availability is always transparent before you request your next piece.
What if I damage a bag?
Let us know immediately - don't try to clean or repair the bag yourself - we have a professional team to do that. We will come collect the bag from you. Light wear and tear cover and insurance for accidental damage is included in your membership for your first borrow in the month. For additional borrows in a month, an insurance surcharge between R200-R300 per bag applies. In the event of serious damage, negligence, or theft, our care team will provide a fair repair or replacement excess fee after inspection.
What is the special founder membership?
As a special offer for our launch on 1 February 2026, founder members will get special discounted pricing for every month of their 12-month contracts! We want to reward our earliest supporters and build a community of luxury handbag lovers.
What is the membership term?
Memberships are 12-month contracts. We have a minimum of 3-months so you get a chance to experience the variety and benefits of Kaya properly.
I love the bag I'm currently borrowing from Kaya, can I buy it?
Some bags are for sale, just contact us and let us know!
Do I need to have my own luxury handbag to be part of Kaya?
No! You just need to love luxury bags!
